Background
Flórián Albert was born on September 15, 1941 in Hercegszántó, Hungary, and is one of Hungary’s all time great strikers.

Football career
Albert spent his football career at just the one club; that of Ferencváros, where he played for 16 seasons from 1958 to 1974. His greatest achievement in European football came in 1967 when he was named European Footballer of the Year, while his international record is also pretty impressive, with 32 goals in 75 caps for Hungary. Flórián Albert was the top goal scorer in the FIFA World Cup 1962, which he tied with five others, scoring a respectable four goals.
